BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (June 2017) – Properties with longer mowing cycles have a new solution to power through tall grass and collect clippings with ease: the PLH800 direct collect rotary mower from The Toro Company. The PLH800 mower is engineered for long life and maximum productivity with a tough welded cutting deck, a high-capacity collection hopper and fuel capacity for a full day of operation.
A bull-nose bumper protects the leading edge of the cutting deck against damage from kerbs and other obstacles while minimising blowout of grass and dust. The 126cm deck is built for durability with heavy-duty caster forks, a reinforced carrier frame and skid protection.
The ProLine H800 also enhances productivity with a powerful 26 hp engine, a large 41L fuel tank, and a high-volume 810L hopper offering the largest capacity in its class. The direct grass collection function features the Smart AirFlow system to maximise performance, and the automatic electric-powered grass distributor optimises grass filling to make efficient use of the hopper’s capacity.
When the hopper is full, a sensor alerts the operator and the deck automatically shuts off to prevent overfilling or uncollected clippings. The mower’s high-lift system has a 2000mm dump height, making it effortless to empty a full load of clippings directly into a truck bed. In addition, the automatic deck chute cleanup feature prevents grass from clogging the chute during each dumping operation.

It also offers a short turning radius with a top speed of 15km/h. A narrow profile allows the machine to move in confined areas and avoid branches, and high ground clearance of 150mm easily handles climbing up and down kerbs in urban areas.
Operator-friendly features include an out-front deck design that offers excellent sight lines for trimming around landscaping in urban areas and parks. A fully adjustable mechanical suspension seat and tilt steering column provide a comfortable driving position, and the single-pedal layout is designed for more intuitive operation.
The operator does not even need to stop to adjust the height of cut. It can be done quickly and easily from the seat with the push of a button, with infinitely variable settings from 20mm to 100mm to meet grass height requirements in various conditions.
Other features include a high-performance cutting system that delivers the clean quality of cut that is crucial for sports fields and business complexes. Plus, the timesaving Smart Cool feature uses an auto-reversing cooling fan to blow chaff off the intake screen and help reduce overheating. There’s no need for the operator to stop and exit the mower to clean the back hood.
Key components are easy to reach for service, and the tilting deck provides convenient access to blades for daily cleanup. Automatic deck cleaning wipers also save time. These features help minimise downtime for maintenance operations.
