Creating a beautiful outdoor space starts with preparing the site, and Toro has the right equipment for the job. After you’ve cleared the trees away, Toro® stump grinders can help you turn tough stumps into woodchips quickly and efficiently.

Toro’s range of stump grinders is designed to help you stay productive with smart features and easy-to-use controls. Here’s a look at what they have to offer.

STX-38 Stump Grinder

Stump Grinder STX-38

When you have a challenging stump to remove, the STX-38 is the ultimate solution. The Intelli-Sweep® feature automatically slows the sweep speed of the cutting head based on the load on the wheel, so heavy cutting loads won’t bog down the engine. Another key feature is the all-hydraulic sweep control valve, which facilitates side-to-side feathering for superior stump grinding. Plus, the easy-to-use controls are extremely operator-friendly.

The STX-38 is equipped with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) and electric start for reliable power, easy starting and low maintenance. And no worries about tyre ruts or flat tyres — the STX-38 has a hi-drive track system that provides superior climbing capability, manoeuvrability and greater side-hill stability. Its tracks not only handle soft, wet ground conditions, but also climb kerbs and allow zero-turn capability.

At just 86.4 cm (34″) wide, the STX-38 easily fits through standard 91.4 cm (36″) gates and offers ground speeds of 6.4 kph (4.5 mph), so you can spend more time grinding and less time transporting the machine for maximum productivity.

  • Cutting depth: 46 cm (18″) below grade
  • Cutting height: 88.9 cm (35″) above grade
  • Cutting wheel: 57 cm (22.25″) diameter to tooth
  • Head swing: 132 cm (52″) radius

STX-26 Stump Grinder

The STX-26 delivers the power you need without being overcomplicated. Its exclusive traction control system has two levers that are simple to learn, master and use. Paired with tracks and transport speeds exceeding 6.4 km/h (4 mph), it’s the perfect combination for maximum productivity.

Like its larger counterpart, the STX-26 is equipped with the Intelli-Sweep feature to maintain optimal operation based on the load on the wheel. It also has a hydraulically driven head, which means no chance of expensive belts breaking or slipping. And the offset cutting head design gives operators excellent visibility to the stump.

The tracks on the STX-26 travel easily over muddy areas, offering a low centre of gravity for greater side-hill stability. Tracks also allow zero-turn capability so you can get to challenging stumps.

  • Cutting depth: 31.8 cm (12.5″) below grade
  • Cutting height: 88.9 cm (35″) above grade
  • Cutting wheel: 48 cm (19″) diameter to tooth
  • Head swing: 120 cm (47″) radius

SGR-13 Handlebar Stump Grinder

Well-balanced, easy to operate and simple to maintain, the SGR-13 efficiently turns stumps into mulch. It features an exclusive cutting wheel with easily replaceable grinder teeth, delivering one of the smoothest cutting experiences of any walk-behind grinder on the market.

Compact enough to reach stumps in tight spaces near houses and other live trees, the SGR-13 is easy to transport. Lift handles make it simple to load and unload, and the handle is foldable for transport in a 4×4, car or MPV. It also has a heavy-duty centrifugal clutch that’s built to handle stump impact, and rubber gaskets between the handle and frame help reduce vibration and operator fatigue.

  • Cutting depth: 28 cm (11″) below grade
  • Cutting height: 35.6 cm (14″) above grade
  • Cutting wheel: 24.1 cm (9.5″) diameter
